Proudly independent, Runnymede’s policy development is a critical strand of our work. We take pride in the range of reports, parliamentary briefings and policy responses we have produced for over 50 years.
Runnymede acts as secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Race and Community. We believe that an active APPG is essential to engage parliamentarians across the political spectrum in top-level discussions on race equality, centred on evidence and research.
Political participation isn't only for political parties and formal political institutions. A core part of Runnymede’s work is to engage the British public and Black and minority ethnic-led organisations to participate more widely, and encourage the Black and minority ethnic electorate to exercise their right to vote and have their voices heard by parliamentarians.
