We collaborated with Heard - a charity dedicated to working with people and the media to inspire content and communication that changes hearts and minds - to create this guide for media professionals and creators who want to tell powerful and nuanced stories about racism and migration.

Inside, we explore the concept of intersectionality, and show how experiences of racism and migration intersect in people’s lives. The guide aims to provide people working in and with the media with the tools and confidence they need to address common misconceptions, promote inclusive language, and encourage more accurate and authentic representations of these experiences on screen.

A participant from Heard's Media Movers project - which supports young people with experience of migration to engage in safe, strategic media work - said:
‘It’s important to see authentic stories from people with lived experience in popular culture.’
